Troubleshooting Live Features

Notes
New: Live features are now also available on the web portal (Previously only supported on FlexiView for Android)

Live Screen Sharing Issues

The following issues may occur when using Live Screen Sharing.

1. Live Screen Sharing starts, but nothing appears

Cause: The Target Device's screen is on, but the device is not actively being used.

What to do: Wait until the person using the Target Device taps the screen or interacts with the phone. Screen activity should then become visible.

2. Live Screen Sharing disconnects unexpectedly

Cause: The person using the Target Device has locked the screen, or the screen has automatically turned off due to inactivity.

What to do: Live Screen Sharing requires the Target Device's screen to remain on. Wait until the screen is turned on again, then restart Live Screen Sharing.

3. Live Screen Sharing fails to start

Possible causes:

  • The Target Device's screen is off. Wait until the screen is turned on, then try again.

  • A previous Live Feature session has not fully ended. Some processes may still be running in the background after a Live Feature is stopped. Wait a few seconds and try again.

Understanding Live Feature Error Messages

When a Live Feature fails, the error message can help identify where the problem is occurring.

“Live Feature server may be temporarily unavailable. Please try again shortly.”

This error indicates a problem with the Live Feature signaling service.

What to do:

  1. Wait a few moments.

  2. Try starting the Live Feature again.

  3. If the error continues, try again later.

You do not normally need to make any changes to the Target Device when this message appears.

If the problem continues for an extended period, please contact FlexiSPY Support.

“Trouble connecting to the device. Please try these steps.”

This error indicates a problem connecting to the Target Device.

This can happen when the Target Device temporarily loses its internet connection, such as when switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data.

What to do:

  1. Confirm that the Target Device is powered on.

  2. Make sure the Target Device has an active and stable internet connection.

  3. Wait a few moments and try the Live Feature again.

  4. Check whether new data is still being received from the Target Device in the FlexiSPY portal.

If the problem continues even though the Target Device is online and sending data, please contact FlexiSPY Support.
