How to Upgrade to a Supported iOS Version

How to Upgrade to a Supported iOS Version

Background

  1. FlexiSPY for iPhone requires that the phone be Jailbroken
  2. There are many different Jailbreak tools. Each tool supports certain combinations of iPhone model and iOS versions (for example, an iPhone 6 running iOS 12).
  3. If your device does not match one of these requirements, it is considered "unsupported"
  4. If your device is "unsupported" because of its iOS version then you may be able to update the iOS version to one that is supported.

Before you begin

  1. Verify an iOS upgrade exists for your device
    1. Select your iPhone from this tool
    2. Under the 'Signed IPSWs' section, note the iOS version that is displayed (for example, 'iOS 14.4')

  2. Using this website  make a note of your iPhone's Chipset name. Also, note whether it's 32 or 64 bit

  3. You should now know your device's model, upgradeable iOS version (refer to step 1), chipset, and bit.  (e.g., 'iPhone X + iOS 13.5 + Apple A11 Chipset + 64-bit ).  We will call these your 'Device Specifications'
  4. Next, verify whether a jailbreak exists for your device specifications. To do this,  visit this website , then look for the iOS version you noted earlier
    1. As a general rule, if you find your iOS version listed then a jailbreak is available for your device
    2. The exception is if the tool does not support a certain chipset and or bit version, or has some other limitation that applies to your device

    3. If a there is a jailbreak tool for your device, then download the IPSW file from step 1 to your computer the proceed to next steps
    4. If there is not a jailbreak tool for your device , then your device is not supported at this time. Consider purchasing a phone preinstalled with FlexiSPY instead.

How to Upgrade

  1. Backup your iPhone incase something goes wrong
  2. Open iTunes, cancel if asked for an update
  3. Go to your iPhone's summary page. Hold alt/option key (OS X), or Shift key (Windows) and click on restore. A window will show up choose the ipsw your downloaded before and and your upgrade will start. Then afterwards reinstall the backup
  4. You are now ready to jailbreak your device and install FlexiSPY. We recommend you use our Installation Service for this
