How can I move the software from one device to another?

How do I move the software to a new device?

With a FlexiSPY subscription you can move the software as many times as you wish from one device to another.  When you do this, there are two processes involved, these are deactivation and uninstallation.

Deactivation

Before you uninstall the software from a device you must always deactivate first.  This is because deactivation stops your license key being used by the software on the device to communicate with the server.

As an example of this, if you simply uninstall the software, but you failed to deactivate it first, then when you try to activate the same license key on a new device it will fail, informing you that the license key is already in use with another device. This means that you must deactivate the license key first before you can continue.

To deactivate you have several ways you can do this:

Deactivate and uninstall from your online portal

You should do this if you want to deactivate your license key and uninstall the software to physically install the software on to a new TARGET device using the same license key.

  • Inside your online portal, go to Help > Reference Manuals > Deactivation and Uninstallation and follow the deactivation steps.

Deactivate from your online portal

You can deactivate the license key, without uninstalling.  You should do this if you want the software to stop working on the current device and you plan to activate it again later.

  • Inside your online portal, go to Help > Device Settings > Device Controls > Deactivate.

Deactivate by remote SMS command

A remote SMS command is a special SMS message you send from your own phone to the TARGET device to perform software functions if you do not want to always get the device physically.

Please note that this remote SMS command may be visible on certain Android devices.

The remote SMS command to deactivate is:

<*#14142><License key><D>

When you send the remote SMS command, replace License Key with your own software license key and use < > as shown.

Uninstallation

After you have deactivated your license key and stopped it from communicating with the server you should uninstall the software.  As with deactivation, there are several ways you can do this.

Uninstall from your online portal

You can uninstall the software without having to get the TARGET device physically.

  • Inside your online portal, go to Help > Device Settings > Device Controls > Uninstall.

Uninstall by remote SMS command

As with deactivation, you can uninstall the software by sending a remote SMS command to the TARGET device.

Please note that this remote SMS command may be visible on certain Android devices.

The remote SMS command to deactivate is:

<*200><D>

When you send the remote SMS command, replace License Key with your own software license key and use < > as shown.

You must always deactivate and uninstall to completely remote the software successfully from the TARGET device.
